My son and I have visited several of the execution sites in France and Belgium and believe me they run shivers down your back. The visual display at Poperinge is particularly emotional as it shows the condemned man awaiting his fate while looking through a small window at the execution post..These things did happen and we just can't hide it away and pretend it didn't. War was bloody.
Thank you for your comment, the fact is men were shot by firing squad , and no matter how unpalatable it may appear to you personally it can not be denied,. What is the point of living history if we do not portray all parts of the horrors of war. The igws only do ww1 displays, we leave black and tans to other groups .
