Great War enthusiasts who aim to perpetuate

and honour the memory of all Irish men and

women that served in WW1?

 

If you have answered 'yes' to the above questions then come and join us in the Irish Great War Society.

For insurance reasons IGWS membership is strictly by subscription only and all members  carry a dated membership card.        Applications for membership are  welcome but acceptance is at the discretion of the management committee.

INFORMATION:

The Society own a limited number of uniforms which maybe available to be borrowed by new members if the appropriate sizes are available.  

However, all members are expected to purchase their own uniforms and kit in due course.  There are a number of WW1 replica uniform suppliers available and new members are advised to compare prices and delivery costs before buying.   

The basic uniform will consist of the following;

a).  Jacket

b).  Trousers

c).  Braces

d).  Puttees  (leg wraps)

e).  Collarless shirt

f).   Black boots

h).  Trench cap or SD Cap  (Stiff cap)

 

Other useful items;

a).  Webbing belt

b).  Leather belt (Walking out/Dress belt)

c).  'Grey-back' collarless shirt.

d).  SD braces (White)

e).  Bayonet frog.

f) Full webbing
